Back to Vintage with Madras Prop Store

This time, I have got something unique, old, and interesting lined up for antique lovers !

Madras Prop store, by Jofy Abraham, A culinary antique online store based in Chennai, Tamilnadu.

Like me, You would also love to go through the huge unique collection of vintage Indian utensils which can be broadly classified under Indian, British & Dutch style.

It will take us back in time in terms of the uniqueness of most of the collection (mostly to the era of our forefathers). There are unique collection of items which were then used for food preparation, storage and serving.  I was able to identify with many, but not all :-).  Mostly of these vintage utensils are made with wood, copper, tinware, ceramic, stoneware etc. as in earlier days.

Paliam Palace, Kerala

Am taking you to Paliam Palace which is one of the architectural splendours of Kerala.

This palace was used as official residence of Paliathu Achan who were Prime Ministers to the Kings of Kochi.

This palace is a mix design of Kerala an Dutch Styles. A circulation space runs along the private area of the building, facilitating air movement, resulting in insulating the interior, making it cooler compared to the peripheral.

The Government of Kerala has initiated the " Muziris Heritage Project"  to reinstate the historical and cultural significance of the legendary port of Muziris.

Paliam Palace is one in to  the  " Muziris Heritage Project". This is being converted in to a museum now. Do visit the place !

Madras Square,ECR,Chennai

The cafe at east cost Madras Square has a very charming atmosphere in summer during evenings. Place is done up in bistro casual style. .

The spacious quality of the building is accentuated by free flowing design. Outside space has free flowing area so maximum natural light is introduced.

Walk down through this you can see an atmosphere filled with greens, which makes your feel closer to nature.
